Self-assessment for individual therapy – a first orientation
Some difficulties are easy to name. Others show up as ongoing tension, exhaustion or the sense of returning to the same place again and again.
This self-assessment helps you take stock of your current situation calmly and notice which themes are taking up the most space right now.
It is designed for adults who are wondering whether individual psychotherapy could help – at my practice in Stockholm or online.
The self-assessment is not a diagnostic test. It offers a first orientation and suggestions for possible next steps.
How the self-assessment works
You read a series of short statements and indicate how well each one has applied to you over the past few weeks.
Answer according to how things actually feel for you. It takes only a few minutes, and you can stop or start again at any time.
The statements cover several areas of life: everyday strain, worry and inner tension, mood and energy, recurring patterns, relationships, and questions of direction and meaning.
What the feedback shows
When you have finished, you receive brief feedback.
It describes the areas in which your answers suggest greater strain and proposes suitable next steps – for example reading further, bringing your observations to a first session, or considering a medical check-up.
The feedback does not provide a diagnosis. Terms such as depression or anxiety disorder describe clinical diagnoses that require a personal conversation and a professional assessment.
Your answers stay with you
The evaluation takes place entirely in your browser. Your answers are not stored and are not sent to me or anyone else. As soon as you close or reload the page, they are gone.
If you are struggling right now
A self-assessment cannot replace help in an acute crisis. If you are thinking about suicide or feel that you or someone else is in danger, please call 112 immediately.
In Sweden you can also call 1177 for healthcare advice around the clock. If you are elsewhere, please contact your local emergency services.
Where to go from here
If something has become clearer, you can read more on the psychotherapy page or prepare for a first session with the intake questionnaire.
You are also welcome to contact me directly – we can work out together which kind of support fits best.

Frequently asked questions about the individual self-assessment
Does the self-assessment replace a first session?
No. It can help you organise your thoughts. In a first session we look at your situation personally and in context.
What if several areas show strain?
That is common, as different pressures influence one another. Take the feedback as an invitation to look more closely – ideally together in a first session.
Can I complete the self-assessment more than once?
Yes. Some people use it at intervals to notice changes. As nothing is stored, you may want to note your result yourself.
